About Me
I was born in Dushanbe, Tadjikistan on February 1, 1979. I was raised in Ferghana Region, Uzbekistan and lived in Margilan for 17 years. I have a sister, Nodira, and a brother, Farruh. Both of them currently live in United Kingdom. I graduated from a Turkish high school in 1995, when I was 16. I am eternally greatful for the great Turkish education that I received in Ferghana Turkish High School. Right after my graduation I passed entry exams to Ferghana State University, Faculty of World Economic Relations. After a year, I transferred to Tashkent State Technical University, Faculty of Business Management. In 1997, I passed Umid Presidential Scholarship Program and got transferred to University of Colorado at Boulder. I graduated in May 2000 with BS in Management and Marketing. While studying at the university I worked as full-time staff in Information Technology Services department fixing computer hardware and troubleshooting software issues throughout the university.
My interest in computers started back in 1989, when I spent all evenings playing Tetris and other games on Bulgarian “Pravetz” computers with my sister in our school lab. My parents eventually got sick and tired of me staying late at school every day and got me an IBM PC (first generation of x86) with 640 KB memory, two 5.25 inch 360KB floppy drives, no hard drive and a CGI monitor. That was a blast! I remember the stack of floppy disks I had and the hours I spent swapping disks to get something up and running. Considering how quickly the disks would die, Norton Disk Doctor (ndd) was my friend :) Two years later the PC was finally upgraded to a used 286 with a 40 MB hard drive. Life got much better at that point and I even tried running first Windows OS on this machine.
Many years have passed since then and my interests have expanded and advanced into programming, networking, computer design and many other fields of Information Technology. I currently manage the IT department of Stonebridge Companies. My latest project is related to ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and the company successfully went live in November 2007 with SAP Financials.
In 2006, I met the love of my life Hilola. We fell in love with each other at first sight and got married right away. Our first son Omar was born on February 3rd, 2007 and our second son Osman was born on June 18th, 2008. These sudden changes to my life are the best thing that ever happened to me. No words can describe the feeling you get when you see the first smile on your child’s face… I love my family and I thank Allah every day for what he has given me.
I also enjoy photography. I have been interested in photography since I was a child - my parents had a large case with hundreds of family pictures, where they saved our childhood memories. We would sit all together once or twice a year going through all photographs, remembering childhood, overseas travel and other fun activities. I always wanted to do the same for my kids and bought a Nikon DSLR camera as soon as my first son Omar was born. Ever since, I have been taking thousands of pictures and photography became my primary hobby.
